Health and Safety
0-2-5 nursery has a health and safety policy document, prepared by a holder of the basic heath and safety at work certificate which may be viewed by parents at any time. This covers important topics such as 3 monthly fire drills, the password system for collecting children and first aid certificate holders.
The children’s meals are prepared freshly each day using high quality ingredients. The children are served a varied and well-balanced diet, incorporating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. We are the heartbeat award each year for our healthy menus and for promoting healthy eating. Parents should advice us of any special dietary requirements, so that these can be met.
Regular inspections by Ofsted and Health and Safety Officers ensure that the nursery is running in line with current legislation. The staff are aware of the importance of keeping the children and the environment as clean and hygienic as possible.
Ofsted guidelines state that we must not accept children into the nursery while suffering from an infectious illness. Please do not expect us to break our terms of registration; a cheerfully noisy nursery is not the place for a sick child, if your child becomes ill during the nursery day, you will be contacted by telephone and asked to collect your child. If your child is on antibiotics, they must not attend nursery until they have been on the medication for 48 and must also be fit enough to return.
