0-2-5 nursery favours a gradual admission policy wherever possible. During the week prior to your official start date, you and your child will be invited to spend time in the nursery environment. This settling in period enables a child to become familiar with the routine of the nursery day and to become familiar with the other children and the staff. This also provides an opportunity for parents to build up a relationship of friendship and trust with the staff. This is important if the collaboration between home and nursery is to be successful.
The settling in period is free and will last if any individual child needs, usually a week of gradually increasing sessions is enough. Nursery staff will work with parents and discuss how their child is settling and will offer advice on the length of time to leave their child during this period.
We also offer a home visit where your child’s room leader will visit you in your own environment so that your child has a familiar face once the settling in sessions begin.
To admit your child, you may either visit the nursery and receive both the contract & questionnaire from the office, or print them out to fill in manually and post them to Lynn McNally, 22 Thornfield Road, Heaton Mersey, Stockport, SK4 3JT.
